Our President

A Time Honoured Tradition

On Saturday 19th March 1932 the first meeting at St James Parish Hall, Louth commenced to discuss the formation of a society for the reading and production of stage plays. Over 100 people attended.The meeting was chaired by Mr. Arthur Bellamy, who was elected as the very first President of the society during the evening.

The tradition and honour of becoming the president of the Louth Playgoers Society continues to this day.

It is the president's responsibility to select, oversee and support the Louth Playgoers' season of plays, musical and pantomime. The president will look to produce a season of shows which is both a commercial and creative success.
